Suspicious Male - Allenby Avenue, Grimsby

Dear Resident

On 04/12/2025 we received a report from a resident on Allenby Avenue regarding a suspicious male who approached the driveway of the property and appeared to be peering into the rear garden. When challenged, the male stated that he used to live in the area as a child many years ago and wondered if a certain tree was still in the rear garden, to bring back some memories for him. There is no such tree in this particular garden and the male cycled off in the direction of Cross Coates Road (police log (0287 04/12/2025 refers).

Although this could be plausible, it was getting dark, raining very heavily and this person was on a pedal cycle. He has been described as a white male, aged mid 30's, slim build and had facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket with hood up over a black coloured hat. Although no crime has been committed this does seem suspicious and there was burglary at a property nearby on Naseby Grove the previous day where an adult male walked into a property via an unlocked rear door (crime occurrence 25*168138 refers).

Please be vigilant and if you see anyone/anything that seems suspicious in your street then please report this by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency if a crime is in progress.
